DeSmedt Games ("we", "us") operates French Fun Flashcards. We act as the data controller for personal data processed through the Service.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: name, email address, hashed password (or OAuth identifier for Google sign-in).
• Student data you provide: student names or aliases, avatars, PINs and progress, entered by the teacher.
• Content: decks, cards and settings you create.
• Usage and device data: log data, IP address, browser type, session timestamps.
• Support data: messages you send us.

3. Purposes and legal basis

• Providing the Service and your account — performance of contract.
• Securing the Service and preventing fraud — legitimate interests.
• Improving the product — legitimate interests.
• Customer support — performance of contract / legitimate interests.
• Legal compliance — legal obligation.

4. Sharing

We share personal data with:

• Service providers / subprocessors: hosting, database, analytics and authentication.
• Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for sale of subscriptions, payments, tax compliance, invoicing and refunds.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
• Authorities where required by law.

5. Retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and for a limited period thereafter to meet legal and accounting obligations. Student data is deleted when the corresponding teacher account is deleted, or sooner on request.

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including GDPR for EU/EEA and UK users), you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data, and you may object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. Where required, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise your rights, contact us via your account's support channel.

7. International transfers

Personal data may be processed outside your country, including in the EU/EEA, UK and US. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls and least-privilege server roles, to protect personal data. No system is 100% secure.

9. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences (such as theme). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

10. Children

French Fun Flashcards is intended to be used by teachers and parents. Student profiles in the app are created and managed by the responsible adult, who is responsible for any consent required under local law.
